Investing in the Organizations That Make Kernersville Stronger

Each year, the Kernersville Foundation distributes grants to local nonprofit organizations addressing the community's most pressing needs. Our grant process is designed to be straightforward and transparent — so that eligible organizations can plan ahead, apply with confidence, and understand exactly what to expect.

THE GRANT CYCLE

The Foundation awards grants once per year, following a structured review and decision process:

March 1–31 — Application Window

Applications are accepted during the month of March only. To receive an application form, contact our office at [email protected]. Applications are not available outside this window, so we encourage eligible organizations to reach out early.

Early June — Grant Decisions

Applications submitted by the March 31 deadline are reviewed by the Foundation's grant review committee and presented to the Board of Directors, who make all final funding decisions by early June.

June — Disbursements

Approved grants are disbursed to recipient organizations in June.

AFTER RECEIVING A GRANT

Grant recipients become part of the Kernersville Foundation community. We ask that recipients:

  • Participate in a check presentation photo opportunity during the summer, which is featured in local news coverage
  • Attend Foundation events that showcase the impact of funded organizations to our donor community
  • Submit a grant report describing how grant funds were utilized, due January 31 of the following year
