Investing in Kernersville's Next Generation

The Kernersville Foundation is proud to administer scholarship funds that help local students pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are established by donors who wish to create a lasting legacy in the Kernersville community. The Foundation handles all administration and recipient selection on the donor's behalf.

Currently, the Foundation administers one named scholarship, with the capacity to add additional scholarships as new funds are established. If you are interested in creating a scholarship fund in your name or in honor of a loved one, please contact us to learn more.

The L.E. Pope Scholarship

Lawrence E. Pope (1931–2010) was a prominent community leader whose vision and work ethic helped Kernersville grow into the thriving community it is today. Lawrence Pope had a lifelong appreciation for the agriculture and construction industries, and the successful business career that reflected those values inspired this scholarship in his honor.

Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are available on a competitive basis to assist residents of the Kernersville area in pursuing either an associate's or bachelor's degree in agriculture or a construction-related field of study, such as architecture or engineering. Scholarships are awarded annually and are good for one year.

Application deadline: May 31 of each year
